London (Hampstead) Permanent Walk

The route is on pavement, gravelled paths
and some unmade woodland paths. There are several gentle
inclines but it is suitable for pushchairs. Hampstead Heath is
the highest land mass in London, and as a result you can enjoy
panoramic views over our Capital City. Stroll past residences
of famous citizens, past and present. Enjoy traffic-free
sections of the route, knowing that you are surrounded by the
bustle of a busy city. |

The route is almost entirely pavements. The route passes
stately squares and Royal palaces, trendy shops and antique
dealers, concert halls and museums, parks and riverside. No
single walk can possibly incorporate all the sights of London,
but this will show off many of the popular tourist attractions
as well as some of the less well-known places. Allow at least
half a day to do it justice. This is a pushchair friendly
route, other than a few steps there are no inclines worth
mentioning. There are plenty of pubs, cafes, etc. for
refreshments and also plenty of public toilets. |

Walking Club
Westminster and City of London is a linear
walk starting at Westminster tube station and finishing at Tower
Bridge. It takes you past quite a few of the tourist sites,
including Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament with Big Ben,
St James Park, Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards, Downing Street,
the Cenotaph, Trafalgar Square, Nelson's Column, the National
Gallery, St Paul's Cathedral, the Monument (Great Fire of
London) finally to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. There a
many more sites just off the route. |

After strolling through Hyde Park (King Henry VIII's hunting
grounds), you emerge into the Royal Borough of Kensington and
Chelsea, home to the Chelsea Pensioners. You then continue
