Marston Vale Millenium Country Park Trail

This trail is a circular route and goes
around the Country Park, set up under the 'Forest for Communities'
scheme. The walk takes you around a former clay pit from the
brick industry and is a local example of environmental
regeneration at work.
Marston Vale Timberland Trail
(PT 196)

This fully way-marked trail starts from the new Forest Centre, crosses
farmland before rising to take in the undulating wooded landscape along
the edge of Marston Vale. Small villages and the market town of
Ampthill with its historic parkland
make this an interesting and exhilarating
walk.
King William IV Trail

Starting at a 17th Century Inn, the walk crosses farmland, along the
river Great Ouse, traverses two golf courses, passes through small
villages and quiet woods with quaint village pubs along the way.
The final stretch along the river traverses an avenue of lime
trees.
Bedford River Walk

visiting the village of Elstow, birthplace of Bedford's most famous son,
John Bunyan. Returning along through Bedford Embankment Park along the
banks of the magnificent River Great Ouse.

Cambridge Circular Walk

A walk around the city of Cambridge
passing some of the Colleges, the old castle site from where there are
fine views of the city and along side the river. Here punts can be
hired to absorb the tranquillity of the river and the university.
Peterborough City Trail

The walk takes you through the city
of Peterborough, a historically important and thriving market town
nestling in English country side. Originally known as the Medeshamstede,
it has been a centre for Christian worship since AD655.

of Saffron Walden, through the village of Audley End. Here Audley End
house and park is a highlight of the walk.
HERTFORDSHIRE
Gaddesden Round

The walk is mainly on footpaths, bridleways and tracks.
Great Gaddesden has managed to preserve continuity with its past and
remains rural in character. The 12th Century church, built in
part with Roman bricks, has a number of monuments to the Halsey Family,
who have lived in the parish since before the Reformation. The family
owns Gaddesden Place, which dominates the Gade Valley from its hilltop
and which was built by Wyatt in 1774. This walk can be combined as
a figure of eight with the Gade Valley Trail.
Gade Valley Trail

The walk is mainly on footpaths, bridleways and tracks. There are a
number of stiles on route. It briefly takes to the roads through small
villages and passes public houses and also follows the main A4146 for a
short while at Water End.
NORFOLK
Kings Lynn Permanent Walk

The route is entirely pavement and made up
paths, there are no hills which makes it suitable for pushchairs. An
ancient market town and port, King's Lynn has many buildings from
medieval to Georgian times. The Tuesday Market dates from the 12th
century. The route passes many of the delightful old buildings, the
riverside and some of the more recent
developments. There are several shops and
pubs en-route for refreshments and toilets. Public toilet facilities
are limited.
SUFFOLK
Newmarket Circular Walk

This is a walk around the town of
Newmarket, the centre of British horse racing. It passes many
stables and studs. A side excursion could be made to the Horse
Racing Museum in the High Street.
Haverhill Country Walk

A 10km circular walk to the north
east of Haverhaill, mostly on tracks and fields through the Suffolk and
Essex countryside, passing through the village of Kedington. The church
here is known as the Westminster Abbey of Suffolk, with a splendid
interior, and there are good views of the Suffolk countryside on this
walk. The terrain is mostly flat, with tracks and some small inclines,
but is not suitable for pushchairs. Haverhill has some cafes and pubs
that serve food most days of the week, Keddington has 2 pubs and 1 tea
room.
Bury St Edmunds Trail
