Cardiff Walk
(PT 109) - 13km Grade 1
Organised by Capital Trails Walking Club
This walk will show you some of the industrial heritage
of Cardiff. It takes you through the old docks where coal was exported
from, now a thriving area with cafes, bars and lots of modern and
traditional sculptures and a nature reserve.

Llanwrtyd Wells Town

(PT 42) -

Llanwrtyd Wells is the smallest town in Britain and this walk takes you
from the attractive square overlooking the river Irfan, through the
Dol-y-Coed Park. Here you will find the Sulphur Wells, and on to
the very old Celtic Church of St David's set among the rolling mountains
of the southern Cambrians. This is a flat easy walk. The
rare red Kite is likely to be seen on this walk and food is put down in the Dol-y-Coed field.
From the RSPB hide, you can view the Red Kite feeding at close quarters (1230 every day
between October - Easter).
Round the Garn Walk
(PT 53) - 10km Grade 2
Organised by Llanwrtyd Wells Walking Club
A pleasant walk around the Garn Hill, an extinct volcano, climbing about
800 feet. Wonderful views of the surrounding hills and mountains. A
good chance of seeing the rare Red Kite. Feeding of the Red Kite takes
place in nearby fields between October and Easter, viewing from the RSPB
hut. Visits old Llanwrtyd Church, complete with Celtic Cross.
Victoria Wells Walk
(PT 99) - 15km Grade 2+

A route around Llanwrytd Wells with good
views over the surrounding mountains.
St David's Walk
(PT 119) -
20km Grade 2
Organised by Llanwrtyd Wells Walking Club
The walk passes a RSPB hut opposite the Dol-y-Coed fields where the
feeding of the Red Kite takes place daily at 1230 between October and
Easter. It also passes St David's Church, a very old Celtic Church well
worth visiting. A steady climb through the forestry takes you to a
height of about 500 metres and splendid views of the surrounding
mountains. |
